OLGA RUBIANO, CEO/Co-Founder

​

Olga Rubiano is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of CEA. She has over 21 years of teaching experience from Colombia and Utah. During the pass twelve years, she has been serving the Utah Hispanic community. As a result, she has made a positive impact in the Hispanic community by gaining the trust of the Hispanic community and respect from community leaders and advocators. She is well-known for her humane approach and positive outlook.
 

Olga was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. There, she obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from Universidad de San Buenaventura. Later on, she obtained a Master’s degree in Special Education from Instituto Superior Pedagogico Enrique Jose Varona, Cuba. Both of these degrees have been accredited in the United States.
 

Olga and her family moved to Utah about thirteen years ago. Olga continued to pursue her passion for teaching by engaging in educational programs for different non-profit organizations. As a result of her involvement in different health projects, she was sponsored by the Utah Department of Health, Tomando Control De Su Salud program, to become a Master Trainer in chronic diseases from Stanford School of Medicine, California.
 

Olga is excited to provide educational services and build relationships with the Hispanic community.

LAURA LEON, President/Co-Founder

Laura Leon is the President of the Board of Trustees and Co-Founder of CEA. Laura is committed to serve the Hispanic community. Since she was 13 years old, she volunteered with Hispanic community-based organizations. Her first job was working with a non-profit organization. Throughout her professional experience, she learned to write grants and operate a non-profit organization.  Some of the projects she has been involved include writing and editing grants, producing marketing materials, designing websites and social media pages, and promoting events through public relations campaigns.
 

Laura has multiple certifications as an educator for diabetes, chronic diseases, and nutrition. She enjoys volunteering as a health educator with CEA. Also, she advocates for Hispanic rights and equality in immigration, health care and other important issues concerning the Hispanic community.
 

Laura was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. She moved to the Utah about thirteen years ago. She is pursuing a Bachelor’s of Arts in Accounting and Communication from Westminster College.  Laura serves as an AmeriCorps member for the Westminster College chapter. She is a Service-Learning Scholar for Civic Engagement. Recently, she was the Latin@ Club president, Diversity Union member, and business senator for the Associated Students of Westminster College for two consecutive years.

Currently, she is applying for law school, so she can become an immigration lawyer and help the undocumented community.
